This is when an author reveals a person in the story through his/her words, thoughts, appearance, action, or what others think or say about him/her. it is called characterization.

The appropriate response is Indirect Characterization. It is the procedure by which the essayist demonstrates the character's identity through discourse, activities, and appearance. When you watch a film or network show, you can generally accumulate what sort of individual the primary character depends on the character's activities and responses in various circumstances.
