Constitution states, "The right of citizens of the United States, who are 18 years of age or older, to vote, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on account of age."

This amendment made it possible for

people who were 18 years of age or older to join the military
citizens 18 years of age or older to vote in any election
citizens 18 years of age or older to run for political office
people 18 years of age or older to nominate candidates for office
