In the period from 1450 to 1550, Northern Renaissance was focused more on the empirical observation and accurately paying attention to details of visual reality. The Italian Renaissance, on the other hand, accurately portrayed visual reality through proportion, perspective, and human anatomy. Italian Renaissance  artists depicted mostly classical mythology, while Northern Renaissance artists portrayed more of the domestic interiors and portraits.
