In 2005, a study by the American Psychological Association (APA) found that children who play violent video games are likely to act more aggressively than children who are not exposed to violent video games. An earlier study showed that children who were exposed to violence on TV were more likely to be aggressive in adulthood. The study also found that being exposed to violent behavior on TV had short-term effects on adults, but had long-term effects on children.
