Kristi has been training as a ballet dancer since she was very young. When Kristi’s car is hit by another motorist, she is diagnosed with mild trauma to the area in the back of her brain. Kristi tries to dance again soon after her accident but has a great deal of trouble maintaining her balance. Explain how each of the following concepts applies to Kristi’s current situation.

The way that the concepts apply to Kristi’s current situation is explained below:

Cerebellum: It can be found at the back of one's brain. It is the part of the brain that's responsible for balancing. Since she had an accident, it'll be hard for her to maintain her balance till she gets healed completely.

Magnetic resonance imagining; This is vital for the formation of pictures. In this case, since she had an accident, this instrument can be used in checking her brain and taking necessary pictures.

Neuroplasticity: It means that the brain can be able to rewire itself in order to respond to an experience or stimuli.

Injury to this section of the brain may be responsible for the difficulty of Kristis to maintain her equilibrium.

This is one of the functions of the neural system of the brain. It has the ability to turn or modify its skills and functions by creating and reorganizing nerve cells in order to compensate for the effects of injuries or diseases.

Children are known to have more Neuroplasticity abilities than adults. If Kristi is still very young, chances are that she will recover with moderate or no treatments at all.
